does getEJBHome(), getEJBObject, getEJBLocalHome(), getEJBLocalObject throw illegalStateException when invoked upon context object. I did not find anything on it in the spec. But as per o'Rel these methods throw RUNTIME EXceptions.
Bill Burke works on JBoss, so I guess this is the behavior of JBoss.
There is indeed little mention of this subject in the spec. From the wording of the spec. it seems defining a home interface is optional. If there is no home, then I guess the getEJBHome() method could either return null or throw an Exception. I wouldn't count on getting questions on this on the exam given the limited amount of words spent in the spec.
