Guys,

My question is why do we get a reference for the bean's Home interface in thse two methods? What would that mean to me?

Very little indeed.
My expectations are that this is out of the scope of the exam.
Home interfaces are unnecessary in EJB3 and mainly used for backwards compatibility, I guess.

In some cases you might still want to use home business methods of existing EJB2 beans.
I doubt this will be useful in the setSessionContext or ejbCreate though.
But if you turn the question around...
Is there any real reason to deny you access to the home there?

Yes...there is no reason to deny it but my question is not asking wether we need those references there but rather what purpose will it serve if I get references to my Home interface in one of those methods.
