IS is necessary to read chapters 7,8,9,10 and 11 from the core ejb 3.0 specs. Its regarding entities and its clients for ejb 1.x and 2.x beans. Do questions regarding this come in the exam?? IF yes, then is it that important because its rather confusing especially when you have no experience with beans older than 3.0......???

Well,
I'm in the same situation. I have simply skipped that section and I had no problem at all during the exam.
Anyway, I suggest you to make a lot of mock exams about EJB 2.x compatibility.

You don't need to go through all the EJB2.x related stuff. There's one topic on EJB2.X you should be aware of though :

Identify correct and incorrect statements or examples about EJB 3.0 / EJB 2.x interoperability, including how to adapt an EJB 3.0 bean for use with clients written to the EJB 2.x API and how to access beans written to the EJB 2.x API from beans written to the EJB 3.0 API.

You can check what it's all about in Mikalai's guide.
