Hi friends,

I need an advice from you. I recentyly clear SCJP 5.0 and now preparing for
SCWCD. My goal is SCEA and SOA Architect. Do i really required to go through SCBCD. There are lot of usefull thing in SCBCD but i have no chance to work on that to get real experience. Does it OK to go through this exam. I am currently working in WebLogic J2ee web application development and can use my SCJP and SCWCD skills. what i want to ask that will i miss something in future if i skip EJBs ??

hi Alebald,

my suggestion is to go for SCBCD as more and more applications I think in future will go for EJB 3 and as an architect you should know how to design a system with all these technologies interacting with each other.

Although you can study EJB 3 on your own later (after passing SCEA) but a certification definately helps because it forces you to study a technology from every aspect.

As such you don't require EJB for passing SOA or SCEA. Even my aim was to give SCEA, but I chose to give SCWCD & SCBCD first. This helps a lot in giving SCEA exam. In fact 2 objectives of SCEA are related to it. More over while designing having a deep knowledge of these technologies always helps. Not that, you have to use thse tech in your design, but have a thorough knowledge is a plus.

Secondly SCEA & SOA are time consuming certifications. so giving these certifications on the way, just boosts your morale ....
