Hi guys,

I have completed SCJP 5.
Can i write SCBCD or do i need to go for SCWCD and then SCBCD?
However i'm completely new to EJB's and have basic knowledge of servlets.

Please let me know the books to prepare for the exam.

Thanks in advance.

The only prerequisite for SCBCD (and SCWCD too) is to have SCJP. So you can choose whichever you'd like to do.

You can go to the SCBCD Wall Of Fame to check which books successful ranchers have used.

I think you should prepare first SCWCD and then SCBCD

I agree with Antonio.

Although the exams don't really overlap, EJB are normally used by servlets, rather than thick clients. Having a good understand of the web container (SCWCD) may help you understand some of the SCBCD exam concepts.

After SCWCD and SCBCD you could think about SCDJWS to expand your knowledge on a topic touched upon in the SCBCD exam.

For me, the logical order is SCJP, SCJD, SCWCD, SCBCD, SCDJWS, SCEA. You could miss out SCJD if you have some general design experience though.

Yup choose which one you like best.

You don't have to go with WCD first (although that's the usual route).

You can now even dynamically generate your UI with Grails and your EJB 3 entities.

Or you can create Flex/AS3 classes which consume your EJB 3 Web Services.

The choices are plenty!
