What does it mean by saying, the container Serializes calls to each Session bean instance?

I found this actually from the last paragraph, Page 72, 4.3.13 of the specs.

Does it simply mean that it queues them, so they come in one after another?

I don't think this is referring to Java object serialization.

Just speculation.
