Hey guys,
today i got the result from the SCWCD Examination -- and i passed it. :-))))
As i got the invitation i had little expierence in Servlets and JSP. So I bought a book about servlets/jsp and studied the Servlet and JSP Reference in detail.
Even if the score was very close to fail (got 62%) - certified is certified.
So guys look up your galton account, maybe you got the result also.
Thanks,
Thomas

Just for the record, the Beta testers had to answer all of the 109 questions that are available in the released exam and only had 135 minutes in which to do so. Also the pass mark is determined by the scores of the Beta testers and I expect that just as many Beta testers failed the exam as passed and I imagine that the pass mark was the same for us as it was for everyone.
I'd like to suggest that the moderators deal severely with people who seem to enjoy throwing around inflammatory remarks.

I agree with Amanda. I have taken the Beta as well and as she mentioned it contained all questions from the complete set of questions used in the current exam.
So the beta was as hard as the final exam.
But:
Question quality is IMHO not as good as for SCJP as no real in depth knowledge is required.
I have some years of Java experience and was working a few month with servlets 2.0 so I was quite comfortable with the basics. But no JSP experience at all, no Servlet 2.2 or 2.3 experience, no taglibs, no deployment descriptors, etc.
Just downloaded Tomcat and the servlet and JSP specs two days before.
So I had no real experience in most areas and still got it: Passed with 91 %
Don't get me wrong here: I don't mean that I am brilliant - although I would like to be ;-) I mean that I don't pick all that Servlet & JSP & Container stuff up within 2 days after normal working hours.
So something must be wrong with the question quality.
SCJP was much harder: I started with 3-4 years Java fulltime experience, had much more time to prepare and still had a significantly lower score.
Any comments / flames around?
Cheers
Rainer

Congratulation on your pass.
Unfortunately, I took the beta exam in June and I failed.
Such is life. Well at least we have a forum now and with
the great notes provided, I hope to pass when I retake.
