Hi:
I hope to run Tomcat 4.0 on a Win ME computer. How can I "set an environment variable JAVA_HOME to the pathname of the directory into which you installed the JDK release."
Thanks,
Don

I had to wait until I got home and on my ME machine to be sure.

There are several ways. You could edit your Autoexec.bat and add the line
SET JAVA_HOME=<path>
You can edit both startup.bat and shutdown.bat and add this same entry (This is my perferance)
The other thing to remember is to set the environment space for your dos window large enough. With the dos window open right click on the title bar and select properties. On the "memory" tab set the "inital Environment" to 4096

I Hope This Helps
