Hi,
I have installed BEA WebLogic 6.0 at home. Do you guys advise the use of BEA WL 6.0 to prepare myself with SCWCD? Will it be ok to use that to learn JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3?
Thanks a lot!

I think it will be a good idea especially if you plan to move on with a weblogic certification. You can kill two birds with one stone. So in my opnion go ahead.

Yes, WebLogic is entirely complient with the servlet and jsp specs, and its a great app server, but Im not sure if WL6.0 covers the servlet 2.3 and jsp 1.2 take a look at it, I think only WL6.1 does.
regards.

I have beed working with weblogic 6.0 server for the last 8 months. I have been deploying web applications, and ejbs to weblogic server. I think it should be fine for you to prepare for SCWCD using this environment.
It helped me a lot !

How did you get a copy of weblogic ? If it's an evaluation copy, it will expire in 30 days. I would learn off of tomcat 4.0. Tomcat up to date with the latest jsp and servlet versions and it's free. Plus the documentation is good enough to get you goin.

Hi Rahul,
"I think it will be a good idea especially if you plan to move on with a weblogic certification. You can kill two birds with one stone"
Could you elaborate more on how to go for weblogic certification. Where these tests conducted, I mean to say any prometric centre like we have for SCJP and other sun certifications. Where can I get info regarding the syllabi and all.
Thanks
Harpreet

Harpreet,
I would not like to discuss this here as this is not the appropriate forum. Please post your query regarding Weblogic in the Weblogic forum. I will look at it there and post an appropriate reply.
Thanks.

WL 6.1 supports JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3.
