Does anyone know when someone is going to publish a proper study guide for this exam? It's been out for several months now, and I still haven't been able to find anything. I don't wanna have to read 5 different books and numerous people's notes. I want one proper study guide that will teach me everything I need to know, and no more.

Chris
I'm not positive but I think 5 months would be rushing it abit to get a book published, and besdies I'd rather wait a few extra months for a good book than some book that was rushed through just to be first.
In the mean time you can check out thislinks page that has some good resources on it to help you out while we're waiting for a book.

Actually, any of the good servlets/jsp books plus Tomcat 4.0 plus the Sun API documents should get you through just fine. Several months ago I suggested to Coriolis that I could do an Exam Cram book but they didn't take me up on it.

I'm starting to wonder if there will ever be a proper study guide.

The lead time for commercial book publishing is considerable, plus the publishers have to be confident there is a large enough audience for the book. I have not heard of any projects for a book to cover this topic so I suggest it could be quite a while before any such book is available. However due to the relativly narrow focus and clarity of the objectives this should be less of a problem than it was when no books were available for the SCJP (a long long time ago).
Anyone want to rustle up and marshal an un-commercial book, get permission from people who have written notes a bit of online collaboration stuff to amalgamate, edit etc etc.

Actually i find it more interesting that with a few resources avlbl we have to go thru many books and choose the right links, books, specs....thus gathering some extra knowledge and find it more challenging.... ...unlike SCJP exam where u know what u have to do and how....
As this exam prerequisites SCJP, i think people preparing for this exam is already advanced and are not dependent on study guides....i think a more matured state....
What' your opine here.
