path info vs query string...

can anyone tell me more about path info and query string?
especially path info... what is usage???

Hi lee,
QueryString is the parameters which u pass along with your HTTP GET request which gets appeneded in name/value pairs.This is read by the servlet via request.getParameter.It is confined to doGet request only.
Whereas pathinfo can be used in two manners.
First we can invoke a servlet by typing the relative url and only giving the path info.Context-info/Servlet-info/Path-info...this is the order which we mention when we give the absolute url for invoking any servlet.
Secondly path info can sometimes also be used for session management.

but what would be the main use of path info? In what case, we would have to use path info but not query string??
pls help.
