Hi folks,
thanks to the great discussion on this board, Miftah Khan, Ken Zrobok, SCWCD@Whizz, Professional JSP 2nd Edt. and Jason Hunter's Servlet Programming, the JavaRanch Mock as well as Anand Chawla's Mock I could pass with 81% the SCWCD Exam after 3 1/2 weeks of learning. All right, I guess.
In the beginning I had a bit trouble to get all material ready. To bad there doesn't exist an exam preparation book like for the SCJP. Thanks again to Miftah and Ken for their study notes. Great help!
No news about the exam itself. A bit more tricky than expected. Too much to learn by heart (and forget in a few days). I think Servlets and JSP do have a couple of more exciting ascpects Sun don't have in the SCWCD Objectives and don't mention in the specs. Would be cool if they would improve this test in the future.
I prepared a dummy web.xml and dummy taglib *.tld file. Couldn't find something like it nowhere. So had to write it on my own. Maybe it facilitates to get ready with the DTDs. Well, it helped me, anyway. Check it out here: http://it.cappuccinonet.com/mappe/scwcd/scwcd_xml_files.pdf
For me the next step will be the XML certification...
Keep up with this great JavaRanch site. I really appreciate the friendlyness of the discussions.
Ciao
Berny
