And found JWeb+ and SCWCD@Whiz pretty close to the real one. I mean the real one is simpler but not much.
JWebPlus is little bit more difficult than @Whiz but @Whiz has better explanations. I think they both make a good couple and supplement each other.

2. Additionally, mostly as references: 2 O'Reilly books about servlets and JSP
Mock exams: I think if I used only JWebPlus I would get lower score, though passed

All the folks before me wrote everything right - the exam is very similar to the mocks.
This is my results in the mocks:
JWhiz from the Overall Report:
1. Practice Test 1 - 64%
2. Practice Test 2 - 55.93%
3. Diagnostic Test - 81%
4. Final Test - 81%
5. Practice Test 1 - 100%
6. Practice Test 2 - 89.83%
7. Diagnostic Test - 98.31%
8. Final Test - 98.31%
as you see I did each test twice.
JWebPlus - I don't have this exact figures, I didn't do them twice but the average score was about 80%
One of the best advice I've got from the creators of the tests is to read the explanations even if you answered right.
About the real test: can one use apostrophies in JSP pages or only double quotes are allowed? - that wasn't the actual question but this is the essential of it.

A last minute tip: when you read a code example - always pay attention whether the servlet implements SingleThreadModel

JavaBeans - nothing more than the book I mentioned earlier in the topic. Also the mock exams are somewhat educating.
Design patterns - it seems the exam covers only the limited number of patterns:
1. Business Delegate
2. Value Object
3. Session Facade
4. MVC
5. Data Access Object
As I said the mock exams are educating themselves. Also, if you read only a couple of pages in Core J2EE Patterns about each of them and understand their UML diagram - you are all set.

I thought the rule was one sheet of paper and pencil/pen, and that's it. I can't believe your test center would allow the use of a calculator. I don't think Sun would approve. If Sun did why wouldn't they implement it into the test interface, such as click here for popup calculator. Most of the math questions are very simple anyway, so it is not necessary.
Since many of today's calculators are mini computers capable of holding loads of textual information, the possibility for someone to use this for cheating exists. Not that you did, but the possibility does exist and would eventually be exploited.

I had a special concern about putting the logo on my resume and intentionally sent this question to the person I received it from:

There is one more tip. Maybe I am going to sound too trivial, but anyway I haven't seen such an advice before.
So, here it is: don't rely only on reading. The mock exams are the greatest thing to increase your score. They show you at least what kind of questions to expect. Not to mention their educating factor.
