Javaranch would not exist without doubt (true atleast for Saloon section). Faiza, if you are like me you are never going to be able to remember everything. Just don't worry and take a mock test if you have not already. This will give you little bit of confidence.
Good luck

all right satya,
i've a basic question. i tried to run my first tag library program in jsp.
the question is where do i put .tld file?
i am using tomcat4.0.1. i put .tld file in the directory where my .jsp file is and that worked.
but i don want to do that. i want to 've a dir called "myTagLibs" in WEB-INF folder and in that i want my .tld file.
i'm trying sth like this.
i've taglibTest.jsp file
i've taglibTest.tld file
in tagliTest.jsp i write taglib uri = "/myTagLibs/taglibTest.tld" ...
in web.xml i write , <taglib-uri>/myTagLibs/tagLibTest.tld...
and <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/myTagLibs/tagLibTest.tld....
i get error when i run jsp that /myTagLibs/taglibTest.tld not found..
i guess taglib-uri in web.xml refers to the string i need to write in the jsp file under taglib uri parameter. right? then where i'm going wrong. if u tell i will post my code (it works when i put .tld file in the folder where my jsp files is).
plz help me.
regards
maulin.

Hi,
I was wondering how Anand Chawla's Mock Exam ( see Links page in this forum )compares to the real thing. Great work Anand, by the way!
I'm sitting the exam next on Friday week ( 22nd )and I did the mock for the first time today and I only got 70%. Obviously I'll keep studying till the last minute, but I was curious....
Has anyone done the real thing after this mock? A comparison would set my mind at ease (either way).
Thanks,
Terry

I have read in this forum that Anand's exam does compare very well with the real exam.
Read some of the "cleared the exam" posts.
Good luck.

Among the different mock exams I have taken so far, I found Eduardo Cobian's SCWCD Test to be the toughest. I dont know how it compares to the real one. I am also taking the test next week. This test has made me study more now!

Which statements are correct about character enconding methods?
1) ServletRequest has setCharacterEncoding method
2) ServletRequest has getCharacterEncoding method
3) ServletResponse has getCharacterEncoding method
4) ServletResponse has setCharacterEncoding method
How much more confusing can it get???

Raj:
I just checked the API....
1,2 and 3 are correct ans. ServletResponse doesn't have a setCharacterEncoding(...) method.
Thats a tough one to remember. How much can we remember. Too bad if we get such qstns, doesn't seem very professional, IMHO.

Hi there,
I just got in. Thinking of taking SCWCD test sometime by end of March. Haven't even started preparing yet. Have some idea on servlets and JSP, having written small applications using them. I am collecting all info from the links provided by this forum. Got hold of Java Servlet programming, 2nd Ed & Core Servlets & Jsp book from the local library. Will try to get Professional JSP too. Does that cover pretty much everything? Wonder how long is the usual preparation time. Anyone out there just starting out?
Later,
Hema

Anand's exam is about 20% easier than the real exam.Say about 12 to 15 questions might be more
tougher.
SCWCD@whiz is about 30% easier than the real one.
Cobain's test is more tougher than the real exam.
Differences apart,i think cobains work gives us more information on certain topics than any thing else.I personally feel he has done a great job and he has explored a lot on servlets and jsp's.
Again if you take up all the mock tests mentioned in the links page, you can expect about 20(or more) questions of the same type.Infact Some of them were the same.
Hope this helps,
Manjunath

Hi,
Thanks Madhav and Manjunath for the comparisons.
I've been using the Servlet and JSP specs(which I am extracting to notes now on the second complete reading - I take the subway to work ) I'm doing my own experiments and I've just got my hands on a friends copy of Hall's Core Servlets and Java Server Pages.
I'll spend this week doing all the exercises from that book and doing mocks.
Just 7 days to go....
Terry
