If you want to postpone the exam...do well intime...yeah i was doing that for some time...and was planning to postpone again this friday. Somehow forgot to call and on sat all offices are closed exam was on monday and no delay was possible , Two days hectically cramming the Deployment descriptor and yeah it did help a lot!!!
I Thank Allah that i returned happy after giving the exam.....just one day before i was starting my beloved design patterns and i really had to hurry up....
Spending more time, would have really helped in terms of code practice etc...but i'm glad its all over
Abt the exam:
I had made a diagram depicting client and server, and wht api methods go where....this really helped me alot. i have it handwriteen and will think of a way to post it somehow.
Secondly i really crammed the Deployment Descriptor(DD), and their important features. But also go through some odd situations like what if the tag body has something confronting the DD element value.
Concentrate more on jsp and javabean combination questions and practice where to put dynamic values and where not etc.
Ahh...my beloved Design patterns were like scenario q's and i think i did most of them wrong ....i got a bimodal pattern too and it helped to study miftah's notes last minute Thanx to all the links in the javaranch and all the great notes. It would certainly not have been possible without all the help frm javaranch!!!
Well....whoever wants to postpone the exam...either u forget and God will help u...or if u can work more time...then do more of programming which helps in the jsp q's.
I liked jwebplus and jwhiz seemed a waste...no offence. tried all the mocks and it really helped in the DD. one q was even similar to the mock.
Anything i can do .....just scream
and goodluck to u all!
Back to my domestic duties which i had been neglecting
Have fun !
Faiza

Congratulations Faiza:
Whatever your result may be, you have every reason to be proud of yourself. You seemed to be working really hard and asking questions. I think Allah considers sincere efforts while giving the results.
What is next besides domestic dutoes?

To be honest with you Faiza, my plan is to clean my home as well. Not the physical mess but the social mess. Enough of Java, I want to spend more time with family now. I would still love to clear atleast part 1 of architect exam.
About my post: I am happy to be a part of a wonderful community who shares knowledge all the time.

CONGRATS !!
Your postings always made me go back and check the facts....... and I'm not refering to Design Patterns
I guess you'll be seen in Weblogic forum now. I'll hang around too....
Take a break and have fun.

Faiza,
Congrats Faiza, done the job!
I knew you will do it. You were always active in this forum and your participations proved you were clearing many concepts here. Hope you will do good with your next plans too....
You may add some comments on this exam compared to SCJP for the benefit of newcomers of the SCWCD exam in this forum.

THANX for all the good wishes ...
Mark ...i'd advice u to literally memorize the DD cuz alongwith trying some diff values...but if u'v played around with programming codes then just memorize it. Easy way is just to make layers, and make yur logic there...and plz dont wait more.
Chintan u'r really right abt the social mess. But dont worry, i always thought that socializing can be done anytime, and now i just have to clear the exam....i had told all my friends that i'd vanish for some time and glad that they understood....had to arrange some dinners meanwhile and it greatly breaked my tempo for exam, but no complains now
Any suggesstions abt weblogic certif?
Thanx Sita, Menon,Srini, Maulin(i guess thats the only way i'd be giving the exam...otherwise one can never be confident!),
Ashik thanx for your site and comments on exam too, it greatly helped. Regarding the similarity well to me SCJP was better as i got some fulltime at my disposal and my mother in law managed everything
Reda, Manjunath.........Thanx all for your good words.
Security q's just need the DD stuff, so go ahead and just memorize it. I could not go through the Core Patterns book but i heard that its good for the desgn patterns.
Also learn all the exceptions with diff methods, at one time, i got confused wiht a very simple q asking abt the expn , learn the hierarchy of expns so that even if the answers dont have it specifically , u'd know that it falls under this category.
For jsp and javabeans, just combine the two and and check simple concepts.
Good Luck to All!!!
Faiza

Well, I kinda see my participation here as part of Socializing only. Between all of us, I am sure we had fun, atleast I had. It was really nice meeting you all.
So, I assume we wouldn't be much of you in this forum. You probably would migrate to the Weblogic huh!!!
Anyways, Good luck.

Ideally yes Satya...i should be migrating...but that forum is like sooooooo dead...i keep coming back here , its like everyday practice to visit this scwcd forum (besides cooking )
I just wish weblogic would be more active...will do my part!!! lets see wht happens..but i'm really scared of the ejb's and theres simple SSSSooooooo much to read......phew! i;m tired already!
Its really fun here!
Good Luck to u and u better not postpone the exam date...i know u'll do it for sure...take my word
