Today, I passed SCWCD exam. Thanks to everyone in this group for sharing your experience, notes and mock exams.
The real exam is a bit different from mock exams (JWebPlus and JWhiz). But still, these can help you greatly to get your score high.

Thanks for congrats guys. There is still one thing that has confused me. I was asked three questions about session management. In my opinion, they were pretty easy. But I got 66% in session management. So, one got wrong. But I still can't convince myself that one of my answers was wrong.
But it's all over. I wish Sun could provide more info in the result so that we can improve our weakness.

The more mock exams you can take, the better for you. I would say JWebPlus has more tests. But SCWCD@Whiz has it's own brainer questions for you. On the internet, Anand questions are really good. Carl's exam on Javaranch is not easy either.
I recommend you take all free mock exams on the internet to find out your weakness.
But ultimately, it's all specification. If you can read two specifications over and over, you wouldn't have below 80 marks.

Congrats Victor on passing SCWCD!

I beg to differ with you on this point, as I had not read either of the specs completely even once!
Still, I got 83%.
I am not suggesting that one should not read the specs, but also if one is not able to read it, he/she should practice coding and executing it.
I believe practice is the best guarantee of passing, even excelling any test including this one.

is NOT the same as saying:
If must read two specifications over and over, not to have below 80 marks.
The orginal stmt does not say (atleast to my understanding) that you must read the Specs over and over to score 80 %.
My two cents..........

Okay Satya, maybe I understood it wrong, but it certainly gives such an impression. Only when you carefully read it(and maybe over-analyze it), that you can draw some other meaning.
I only wanted to say that if someone finds reading the specs too tedious, he/she should not feel that one cannot score well. So I have said the foll.

I am not suggesting that one should not read the specs, but also if one is not able to read it, he/she should practice coding and executing it.

So, the whole point of my effort is not to discourage anyone from reading the specs, but to encourage him/her to try out some coding.
I hope you get my point.
Prasanna.

Guys,
You both are right. I didn't mention one must ONLY read specs over and over and will pass the exam.
What I really meant was like that. While you are reading the specs, you would definitely come up with questions - what does it mean? how is it in the real development? stuff like that. In those cases, he/she would write the coding and have practical experience. That was true for me.
Since certification is titled as developer, one should be competent with practical development as well as theory. But to start working without real work related project, one should start from specs and create his/her own questions about what would be the coding result of this topic / that topic.
Thanks for pointing out my incomplete suggestion.
