jsp:text ??

Hi
what I get from sun's tutorial that if one is using "xml" syntax then he should use <jsp:text> to send content to client using "out".
so does it mean if we are using JSP syntax then it is not needed at all. OR the implicitly all HTML code comes under <jsp:text> tag?

jsp:text and jsp:expression are only used when you write a JSP Document. Read Exploring JSP Documents (XML Style JSP Pages)
