As in API it says that it is used by TLD at runtime... Even "More servlets" does not talk much abt them.

I didn't get any questions regarding these classes. I am positive that you may ignore these classes. However in the real world you may have to use them.

To be on the safe side, I would look at the TagExtraInfo class, as it can be used to declare scripting variables being introduced into the page.
You're right about the other classes not being covered in the SCWCD exam. They are either used by the JSP container, behind the scenes when processing tags, or they are used when performing validation.
For the majority of tag handlers that you'll ever write, you'll probably only use these additional classes every once in a while, which is why you won't find them covered in most JSP specific books. Tag library specific books (such as Professional JSP Tag Libraries ) do cover them though.
