I tried google to search JavaRanch and it was definitely faster, and just as accurate. The only annoying thing was everytime I wanted to search for something, I had to retype the information into the google text box, which became annoying after a while. Is there any way to have an intermediate page that allows you to choose options such as forum, member, etc ( as before ), then the search facility redirects you to google, with the information you want already typed into the text box? Just wondering, Jamie
Not sure about the forum option, but I typed in your member number in the google search and it pulled all topics you have replied to or started. All the intermediate page would be able to do is type your search string for you which you can do like "16438 Java in general beginner" If you searched with that criteria, it will pull all your posts from the hava in general forums first. Just try it out. I think it is fine the way it is. The only thing I DON'T like about it is you can't always see enough of the topic subject and you have to view more posts that are no good to you.
I am WAY to busy bowing down in front of Marilyn for actually getting THIS far, to tempt her wrath by suggesting that she do a bunch of custom coding. However, I will be glad to pick up the piece that are left of you when she reads your suggestion . Most anyone with that kind of time to donate is working on the Jive conversion right now. Want to volunteer?

That's my roommate. He's kinda weird, but he always pays his half of the rent. And he gave me this tiny ad:
