I have been hearing that certifications are losing there luster in the recruiters eyes. What about this certification makes it more appealing to a recruiter than, say, Java 2 Programmer? Other than having to study to pass it, are there are other benefits this test offers once it is passed? Steve
Its not about passing the cert but the effort you put to pass(to score) exam. If you have worked for exam then you will be knowing details of that subject and then you can show your capabilities in Interview or while working in some project. All the best

In an interview situation every little bit helps. A potential employer will assume that you know a lot about a particular subject if you are certified in it. This puts you in a good light in the interviewers eyes, and unless you say something to disprove his assumptions this is very helpful. Also in any studying for a Certification you will pick up certain little "gems" , or solutions to problems you have come across in the past. The amount of times I have said to myself "so that's how to do that" when reading up on a topic I thought that I already knew Regards, Fintan
