Normally I use Exam Prep & Exam Cram books to study for Certification exams. I cannot find any Exam Cram books for the SCWCD. Does anybody know if they are available yet?
What other books could people recommend for the SCWCD?
Thanks in advance,
Fintan

There is the one in this week's give-away:
SCWCD Exam Study Kit: Java Web Component Developer Certification
Or these ones:
Sun Certification Training Guide (310-080): Java 2 Web Component Developer Exam
Java 2 Web Developer Certification Study Guide with CD-ROM

Fintan,
Another book that I think is relevant to studying for the SCWCD is More Servlets and Java Server Pages by Marty Hall. I am reading it now and enjoying it and even though it was not strictly written to be a SCWCD study guide it covers the most up-to-date Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2 specs as well as detailed coverage of the web.xml deployment descriptors. Plus if you plan on doing much programming in JSP/Servlets I think it is definitely a good resource to have on hand.

Out of the three books listed above, which one is the best?
Thanks.

Best for the exam?
I think SCWCD Exam Study Kit: Java Web Component Developer Certification is well written for the exam. Easy to read and pick up, good good good.

Hi:
I bought and read "More Servlets and Java Server Pages by Marty Hall". I had considerable experience in front-end development using Microsoft ASP and JSP/Servlets. I have found that the book more sounds like a manual or reference rather than teaching you the concept or the process how you could use the features of JSP/Servlets in building good website systems. Everytime I read it, it makes me sleepy!
This assessment of mine was done by comparing the book with the two books I studied when I prepared for SCJP (The Complete Certification Guide by Heller and Java Programming Language(?) by Khalid Mauhan(?)).

This item will be published in July 2002.

Anyone knows if this book is in store yet? It's almost the end of July.

People with not much experience with JSP/Servlets can try the JAVA 2 Web Developer Study Guide from Sybex. This book is well written and also covers some basics.
I got this book from bookpool.com. It says it is out of stock but they shipped it in a day.
