The 2.3 servlet specification refers to the servlet context attribute listener as javax.servlet.ServletContextAttributesListener, not once but a couple of times (most notably on page 70 in the application lifecycle events, but the actual interface name should be javax.servlet.ServletContextAttributeListener
Also somewhere in the spec, I saw this funny little line

This specification includes chapters that are derived directly from the javadoc comments in the api classes, but where there to be any discrepancies, this specification has precedence over the javadoc comments

Boy I would hate to get a question on the exam with ServletContextAttributesListener and ServletContextAttributeListener as two options.

Yes I noticed it also. The reason I noticed it was because the "SCWCD Study Kit" that I am using pointed it out.
I agree with you that from a test taking perspective it is quite unsettling.
I recall when I took the SCJP exam 2 years ago. They had a "What does this code print" question. And a list of possible answers.
The correct answer was "WILL NOT COMPILE". But that was not one of the possible answers they provided.
So you end up in the bizarre situation of thinking these thoughts ==> "OK - all of these possible answers are wrong answers. Which one is a lesser degree of wrong?"

hey,
i've noticed it too and even posted a message in this forum. i was puzzled when i've seen that not only sun's specs, but also some other sources give the Attributesversion.
I rushed to compile an example and saw the right
thing. I guess there is a typo in the specs and all other folks just copied it from there...
