JavaRanch is contemplating a switch to the Jive forum software. We have spent the last month on a top secret mission to customize the code to the way we like it. We are now looking for volunteers to test out Jive and see if it can handle the many types of requirements that our users have. This is not a performance test so I would like to limit this to experienced JavaRanch users who have some time to test. Test results, good and bad, must be reported back to me through the Jive forum. If you think that you have time and would like to see Jive in action, post a note here. Please do not be offended if you are not chosen.
What kind of skills you are expecting from the volunteers. How much time per week is required and for how many weeks. When do you plan to start the testing. Please elaborate a little more on what type of testing is required and what is the test plan. Thanks, Ashish.

No skills other than the ability to post messages in UBB are required. All we want is people to test out the new Jive forum. Let us know what you like or don't like. We will make whatever corrections are required. Thanks!
I have decided to open it up to whoever wants to check it out. Remember that this is running on the test server so semi-ignore performance. We are looking for bugs and other things that don't work the way we want them to. Please report all issues on the JavaRanch Jive forum. And remember that it may go up and down occasionally as we apply updates to the forum. You can use your UBB id and password but please check your settings and update your display name since the import didn't bring that over. Thanks for the help! http://test.javaranch.com/jive/application [ July 08, 2002: Message edited by: Thomas Paul ]
Just a note, the e-mailing of watched threads doesn't seem to be working. Please try it and let me know if you have any success. You can still watch threads, but it apparently won't email you when a thread is updated.
Please post feedback in the "Discuss JavaRanch" forum at the new site - right here. That way it will be collected in one place. For those who wish to participate in testing, simply go to the new URL: http://test.javaranch.com/jive/application Thanks, all!
