Web.xml VS Server.xml

hello all ,
i want to know that if we use tomcat then there is a configuration file named server.xml .is this configuration file is inculded in the SCWCD exam ,if no then why not as it is also very important to deploy any aplication as for it holds entries of no of server resources etc .
Is this file is vernder dependent that why sun dosent included this file in the Syllabus .
Thanks to increase my knowledge .

Config files like Tomcat4's server.xml or JRun 3.1's global.properties are solely concerned with setting up your server and deploying your webapp, and seems to be more in the province of a
system administrator as opposed to a web component developer.
