Which of the follwoing is not a valid way to change the inactive period of a session before the server terminates the session.
1) <session-timeout>60</session-timeout>
2) setmaxInactiveInterval(500);
3) <session-config>30</session-config>
4) do nothing
the answer given is C, which is ok.
But then why is 'do nothing' not included in the right answers. Clearly not doing anything is not a valid way to change

I am fully agree with you. I have also choosed option 4) when answered and was surprised that:
----
As for doing
nothing, the server usually has a default inactive period defined
automatically.
----
But question asked about
---
a valid way to change the inactive period
of a session
---
I can say, a lot of review questions in this book are ambiguous, like this one. I wish none of such questions come on the exam.
