I'm experiencing something that's really odd when accessing this site. First, when I
go to http://www.javaranch.com I get a JavaScript error dialog with the message: A runtime error has occurred \n Do you wish to debug? \n Line: 1 \n Error: Invalid character.
(Note, the \n represents new line).
I answer "No" and then I'm taken to the list of forums. Subsequent clicks on one of the forums results in 2 JavaScript error dialogs. The first one that comes up reads "A runtime error has occurred \n Do you wish to debug? \n Line: 1 \n Error: Invalid character."
When I answer "no", then the second error dialog comes up with the msg "A runtime error has occurred \n Do you wish to debug? \n Line: 58 \n Error: Object Expected"
Now here is the big mystery: I don't get these error dialogs when I'm connected to the net using my 56k dial-up modem. I get them when I'm connected to the Net through a local area network (broadband access). My network is as follows: I've got 1 Desktop PC at the office which is hooked up to broadband Internet. I'm running Winproxy 4 on that computer so that I can share the Internet connection. Then I have a network cable (the 10/100 Ethernet stuff) running up the wall to my room. That's where I connect to the net using my laptop.
I am using MS Internet Explorer 6. So don't you think that this is really wierd??
Actually, I've just noticed that there are more errors. Just now I got another one when I pressed the New topic btn.
