listener classes and sutting down of the application

is it true that when shutting down the application listener classes are called in reverse order of their apperance in the deployment descriptor ?

Basically, yes, but see what the spec said.
SRV.10.3.4 Notifications At Shutdown
On application shutdown, listeners are notified in reverse order to their declarations with notifications to session listeners preceeding notifications to context listeners. Session listeners must be notified of session invalidations prior to context listeners being notified of application shutdown.

Assume you have four listeners.
1. session listener 1
2. context listtern 2
3. session listener 3
4. context listtern 4
Does it mean that listener 3, listener 1 will be notified prior to listener 4 and listener 2.
What is the notification order now. Please clarify.

According to the spec, the notification order at shutdown should be
1. session listener 3
2. session listener 1
3. context listtern 4
4. context listtern 2
i.e. session before context and in reverse order.
