Hi,
I am trying to do the SCWCD exam on the other wrox book, namely "Professional JavaServer Programmin"g" J2EE 1.3 edition. Is it correct that I should be concentrating on the chapters over servlets / JSP (chapters 5-12) to do this?
I have the feeling that I would be doing a superset of the requirements anyway...
Thanks,
Kees

Kees, please have a look at our naming policy and change your display name. Thanks.
While the Prof J2EE book covers many of the basics, all in all it is not a very good fit. As you mention, it is way broader than the SCWCD exam requires. At the same time, inevitably, the Servlet and JSP chapters do not dig quite as deep as the exam requires.
If you'd want to do the exam from your existing materials, you could read the relevant chapters from the Wrox book, then read the relevant sections from the Servlet and JSP specifications. Finally, visit the links at the top of this page and read the summaries that have been put together to verify that you covered everything. Do a mock or two then sit the exam.
Don't forget to spend some time playing with Tomcat or some other app server. Nothing helps as much as seeing things in action with your very own eyes.
