Hi,
Clicking on a hyperlink or entering an address in url causes doGet to called. If we specify POST in form then doPost is called. My question is there any event which causes doHead to get called?
Can we call doHead thru html form or something like that?
An example wud really help.
Thanks
Salima

Hi,
I am not sure if there is any 'event' that will cause the doHead() method to be invoked. My understanding is that it is the programmer's responsibility to explicitly call doHead() whenever there is a need for knowing the header details such as content type/length, last modified date/time, author etc,. I may be wrong.

I do agree with gopal, b'coz for post also, we do not hv any event rather programmer specify method="POST" in form attribute.
The same way as POST we can use HEAD.

Best regards, Dharmin

doHead is called to process the headers sent by a page request. It does not process the body IMHO.
