Hi all!
I am fresh new to SCWCD forum? My question is whether knowledge of XML is necessary for SCWCD certification.? If yes then how much?
Thanx
Naveed

You can check this link from Sun Microsystem, Inc about the objective of SCWCD

Hi Naveed
You do need a rudimentary understanding of XML in order to understand the Servlet deployment descriptor and Tag library descriptor components.
It is very simple to learn, but you do need to study the exact naming conventions and order of the XML elements of these descriptor files if you plan on sitting the SCWCD exam.
Good luck

Don't worry about xml, Naveed. If you've passed SCJP, you should be smart enough to pick up what you need to know easy. You can get the Exam Study Kit book and pass the SCWCD in less than a month. I recommend forcing yourself to get some hand-on experience with JSP, Servlets, and the deployment descriptor as you study though.
Good luck!

Hi:
XML is not covered at all in SCWCD. I know nothing about XML when I takes SCWCD, and score 83% easily.
HTH.
