JSP Which Version to Learn

Hi, Can you please let me know if you have any information on when there is likely to be an updated SCWCD exam (is one even being discussed).
I have recently passed SCJP and don't have enough experience to try for SCJD, so thought I would try for SCWCD having done some VB/ASP (yuk!) in the past.
I purchased Beginning Jave Server Pages from WROX, and the SCWCD Exam Study Kit as suggested here. I also just purchased Beginning JSP 2 from WROX and was planning on Beginning J2EE from WROX (soon to be published)
The goal is certification. This is a project not a career. Would you suggest studying for the current test, or the newer test (if it is planned)
Also, Is there a particular good intro Servlet book you would recommend?

Version reqd. for exam are Jsp 1.2 and servlet 2.3
