Hi, for those who have passed SCWCD, which one is harder, SCWCD or SCJP?
How many weeks will SCWCD take for preparing?
Thanks.

Jimmy
I found SCWCD easier, but then I had already completed the SCJP2
How long it takes depends on quite a lot of things, such as level of experience, your study speed, and my personal favourite, time.
With Java experience, avarage study speed, and about 10 hrs/week at the books, my guess is 6 weeks to 2 months should just about do it.

Thanks Mark.
So, it's around 100 hours of study, you are very resourceful!

I say the SCWCD is much easier...
Sorry for lame answer but prep time will vary with person. I think scoring mid-upper 70s on the JWeb exams means you're ready to go.
I was scoring upper 70s in the JWeb exams and scored 93 on the actual. The manning book is all you need. Use JWeb to let you know when you've read it enough.

I agree SCWCD is much easier -- but also, I have a lot of experience with J2EE. The Manning book is an excellent reference -- check out my review in the Bunkhouse.
Also -- realize that you need to have passed SCPJ in order to take the SCWCD.

on the "harder" issue, in looking back the SCWCD seemed easier. But then, it's probably because the "confidence", "feel", "disproving of pre-exam assumptions" and other things one has gained in passing the SCJP is already a big boost for tackling the next level of similar type, e.g. SCWCD. There's also your on-going experience in between exams.
Don't be misled though into thinking that you don't have to study well . Keep in mind that this "easier" thing comparison is easier to say (or shall we say 'more confidently said') after one has passed both exams.
Good luck!
