Updated exam this year?

Is this exam being updated this year? Is it still wise to buy the book
"SCWCD Exam Study Kit: Java Web Component Developer Certification" by Hanumant Deshmukh, Jignesh Malavia ?
Can someone please advise?

Only thing I heard is cert will be valid only for two years.
