Dear all,
My web.xml is :
<web-app>
....
<login-config>
<auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
<realm-name>manager</realm-name>
</login-config>
....
</web-app>
Is it true that relm-name element ignored by container?
thanks
daniel

Hi,
<realm-name> is required for Basic authentication.
I tried it in Tomcat. It does not seem to be mandatory even for Basic Authentication. If you provide some realm name then it is shown on the user-name, password pop up box. But if you do not provide one I think it takse the name of the context i.e web app you are in.
