web container behavior?

does all web container have the same behavior, what i mean is that for example like in servlets there's is only one servlet instance for as many request.instance variables and class variables are shared among request.
is singlethreadmodel creates new servlet instance for every request?

No. It's vendor specific. But by defualt most of them follow multi-threaded behaviour. So one needs to check the implementation model of the vendor before deploying the servlet application on it.
