Hi,
I passed my SCJP exam and would like get the SCWCD and SCBCD certification as well. I have both a SCWCD study guide and a SCBCD study guide. Which exam should I do first. I know there is no prdefined order in which these exams have to be taken, but I would like to know which exam is better to do first. Just in case the material from the one exam is beneficial to the other.
Thanks.

I believe the decision boils down to what you intend to achieve from the certification and what area(s) you are working in currently. If in your organisation you work purely on the business model and have no dealing with the Servlets and JSP side of things then it will make sense to concentarte on your EJBs and get the SCBCD certification.
I *think* most people tend to go from SCWCD > SCBCD but there is nothing to say you should.
In my case, I do not work on EJB and my experence is all with Servlets and JSP so I took the SCJP and SCWCD. I am now contemplating on taking the SCBCD exam to further my skills, though I have no commercial experience in this area.

I would recommend you to take SCBCD first, since it was recenly released and will not be replaced soon... While SCWCD is gonna be replaced soon with a new version...
Anyway, certification will not expire even if you take current SCWCD...
So, if you have enough money, do current SCWCD (1.3) , SCBCD, new SCWCD (1.4)
Otherwise, SCBCD, SCWCD (1.4)
Cheers !

I recommend you pursue studying for the SCWCD first. You're far more likely to land a job if you can demonstrate some proficiency with web components, as the need is much broader. SCBCD certification relatively knew and I doubt has much appeal in the job market just yet.

I strongly agree with that.
Unless you currently work with EJB - that seems to be not the case -, I would suggest you to go for the WCD first, even this first version of the exam.
There is a bigger need on web-related crew than you'll find on EJB, at least for now. The WCD certification can bring you more opportunities faster.

Also, remember to keep an eye on the scwcd v1.4.
A suggested trail could be [scwcd 1.3], scwcd 1.4, scbcd.

Gus
