During preparation for SCBCD Beta, Kathy posted a list of topics that were NOT included in the exam and that was very helpful.
May I ask Bert to do the same for us this time? Thank you in advance!
If I correctly understood reading the new exam objectives the following topic(s) are not included:
1. beanName property

Bert's pretty well buried until the middle of January and will probably not respond. I wasn't involved in the test-writing process so sadly, am no help. Possibly Bryan Basham might see this, but you may have to wait a while for an answer.

Is the question: What is not on the new exam that *was* on the old exam? OR What is part of the servlet/JSP/JSTL specs that *is not* on the new exam?
Clearly the second question is nearly impossible to answer, so I won't even try. If you have specific questions about what is/is-not on the new exam, that would be easier to answer.
Here are the topics that were on the old exam that are now gone:
  • almost nothing on error handling (there might be one question on the error-page web.xml tag)
  • tighter list of security issues (just those discussed in the servlet spec)
  • significantly less material on threading issues
  • Value Object pattern has been replaced by Transfer Object
  • DAO pattern has been removed

  • BTW, the beanName attribute of jsp:useBean was never part of the original exam.
    HTH,
    Bryan

Hi All, I am new to this Forum. I got the voucher today and planning to take the test as early as possible. I have not taken the SCWCD exam earlier. I have only the programmer certification. Can any one guide how should I start preparing and what is the best material to go through.
    Thanks in advance
