What is the coverage of the Tag Files for the BETA exam?
Does the exam require to know the details of Tag Files implemented as regular text files or as Java classes? Or both? Please provide some guidance and examples of questions.
I would sincerely appreciate reply to this post by the creators of the new exam as their guidance on exam details is now very much awaited.
Thank you in advance!
Seid

Hi Seid,
I think both of them are required.
According to the objectives, Classic custom tag event model should refer to Java classes, which has been discussed in SCWCD Exam Kit Chapter 15-16.
Simple custom tag event mode should refer to regular text file, which has been discussed in JavaServer Pages (By Hans Bergsten) Chapter 11.
Hope this help.
Nick.

Hi Nicholas, thank you very much for reply. I am so thankful to get one!
I just would like to clarify that the second topic which you mentioned (namely: Simple Custom Tag Event Model) is in itself divided into 2 implantations:
1. Tag Files as regular text file (Chapter 11, like you pointed out)
2. Tag files as Java classes (with methods: doTag, setDynamicAttributes)
In short the Custom Tag Event Model is known as Classic Model
and Simple Custom Tag Event Model is known as Simple Model
so does the exam require us to know both implementations of Simple Model? The doTag is mentioned in the objectives so I understand it is definitely on the exam! What about Simple Model implemented as Regular Text Files, (Chapter 11), is it on the exam too?
Thank you again!

Hi Seid,

YES.
According to Obj 10.4, as you said, it mentions about the (doTag) method, which means you need to know how to write Tag Handler class.
In addition, according to Obj 10.5, it mentions about the Tag File model, which refers to the Regular text file.
Do you think it is reasonable?
But of course, only Evelyn, Berts and Kathy know the truth.
Or, we can know it during taking the exam.
In order to play safe, I have already read those topics once.
Nick.
