Hello,
The exam has definitely improved over the previous versions in terms of the quality of questions. Earlier version of the exam seemed to me more of mugging the concepts than to applying the concepts. The new exam on the other hand requires more of understanding of the topics. I spent 3 days to go through the specs and J2EE design patterns. The questions on J2EE design patterns are very well framed though I felt in one of the questions that Sun wasn't quite descriptive in explaining the scenario. There are around 18 questions on Patterns, and 30 questions on Tag libraries, files, TLDs. The specification isn't enough for the exam. Most of the questions are implementation based, so lotsa code examples and method signatures asked. The questions on EL are around 15-20 and are code based. The basic questions on Servlets and JSP are conceptual and some very good scenario based questions are there.
To summarize, the exam is very good and will require more preparation. The specifications are not enough to score good in the exam.

Hello Ashish!
Thank you very much for good points on Beta!
Bryan mentioned earlier that they eliminated "TLD trivia" so I wanted to ask you what are the questoins on TLDs are like? Please shed some light!
Thank you in advance!
Seid
