Hi Everybody,
Just today I have registered into this Wonderful Website. I have read the posted topics and very glad to see ongoing knowledge sharing on SCWCD Exam. Me too planning to Write SCWCD Exam in a month. As I have time constraints I could not wait for SCWCD 1.4 Exam and so going for older version itself. May be I will go for upgrade Exam (if Sun provides one) down under.
First I would like to congratulate the members who have not only passed the Exam but secured excellent percentages.
As a part of my preparation, I have read "Core Servlets and JSPs" by Marty Hall , Professional SCWCD by Wrox/ APress publishers and famous SCWCD study kit by Deshmukh. I am confident on the objectives listed under SCWCD Exam.
But I heard that some extraneous questions do appear which are not covered under SCWCD Objectives. So, I want to confirm this with you guys. Pls advise.
Also I have come across several Free Mock Exams on the net. But I would like to know free exams which are at the same difficult level, so that I can get actual feel of the Exam before I go for actual Exam.

Thanks in Advance,
Uday Kiran

Hey Uday,
It seems that you already prepared for the SCWCD exam and also read the books by Marty Hall, Professional and Hanumanth's. To say, you are already prepared for the exam. My advice is if you have gone through all those books atleast once, then go throuch the Hanumanth's book second time and do the mock exam links provided here. You are all set to go to a good percentage.
Good Luck then.

Thanx Satish for your advice. But I would like to know whether any extraneous questions do appear which are not covered under SCWCD Objectives. Have you guys come across such questions which fall outside SCWCD objectives?

Hi Uday,
Welcome to the ranch! I have to ask you whether TCS is really your last name? If not, please change it! We only have 2 rules around here, 1 is our naming policy and 2 is to be nice!
This link has the objectives for the new exam, and I can assure you that when we made the exam, every question on it falls clearly into these obejctives!

Good luck in your studies, and be sure to ask and answer questions here, it's a great way to learn.

Hi Aparna,
I would recommend Professinal SCWCD Certification over the two books. The way the book was organized around the objectives is excellent and will clearly says what is expected of you in the exam. But "Core Servlets and JSP" is also a good book and is worth reading.

I took the old (or currently existing version) of the SCWCD and the exam questions promptly sticked to the objectives laid out by Sun.

Hi Jagan,
If you are planning to take SCWCD Exam in next 2 months, I suggest you take older version. Since new version release date is not yet announced and also may take another 2 months to get a good book on that. I am going for older version this Month 20th.
If you go for older version(1.3) , I suggest you to read the following books, SCWCD Exam Study Kit and Professional SCWCD. DO visit www.jdiscuss.com.It contins links to some of the good Mock Exams on the net.

Regards,
Uday
