Hi, folks.
I'm sad, so sad. I saw the result this morning and I failed. The score is not available yet. I hope to pass in SCMAD. Figers crossed.
Now, I have to study to this certification.
Thanks to all who helped me.

Don't feel bad - I did too. (And I feel worse still since I'm the brainiac who figured out, and posted here, that Prometric had the scores before I7.)

I pass the exam but I didn't feel confident before the result.Short time to learn!Failure is just the sign that the conditions of your learning were not the good ones, try to optimize it next time !
Good luck!

Hey guys, cheer up!
It's really not easy..To pass the beta, with new add in specs and
have to read so many questions non-stoply, codes after codes.
I believe you will certainly pass the normal test to be launched soon.

I failed as you. And I feel good when I finished the exam. But ...
And I think will fail the SCMAD exam, too. I will take the SCWCD exam later next month. I think I can pass that next time.
So come on. Let's finish that next time.

My humble sympathies for the guys who have failed the exam. I'll be taking the actual exam sometime down the line. Hope you will be able to share your mistakes with me. . I do not want to flunk the actual exam.

Nicholas,
I wonder where you got all this energy and inspiration from  .
Would you care to share your little secret of success with us
I did 3 certs, working on my 4th and I am already tired, exhausted and
have lost good number of kilocalories.....What exactly is your secret of
success? Did you graduate from Shaolin temple?

Hi-
I have taken only the SCJP certification till now. I get all tired and exhausted just by thinking about certifications .
Yes, Nick and all the other certification gobblers (and that includes you, Vish), please share your recipe, be it legal or illegal , in terms of how you complete certification after certification and still reamin so young and fresh and motivated
Thanks,
Arun.

You are making a mistake buddy, by comparing me with Nicholas.I have been working hard on this SUN certs for the last 1 year, appear now and then at the ranch, whenever I get some free time. But I am no match for Nicholas the great! Just look at his signature.....I see a long marquee list scrolling by ...So I am yet to hear from our friend Nicholas his success story.
Looking forward, Web Services is relatively a new exam, so I am expecting Nick to show us the way for passing this exam also.....

Cheer up Rashmi-
You still have your SCWCD certification to flaunt. The version is immaterial. What strikes me more is the fact that you scored an excellent 91% ( ) in the older version but apparently flunked the beta( ). Was it nerves or do you think the beta is that much more difficult or that too many new topics have been introduced.
Thanks,
Arun.

The secret is ... free of charge.
If you pass an exam without any costs except deploying time for studying it, then you can earn US 150 each time.
Since all exams are either free of charge, or sponsered by my company, I feel happy to take it. In addition, my company allows me to leave office on time whenever 1 week before an exam. This makes me have more time to prepare.

Cheer up, man!!!
Beta exams are usually more difficult to pass, because you are lack of resources, and no previous experiences. What you can believe is yourself, and you need to read a lot.
Lucky that my company also sponsors me the books, so, in addition to SCWCD Exam Kit, I have ProJSP, JavaServer Page and Core J2EE patterns. (Of course, I need to return the books to company after passing/failing the exams )
But, at least, I do not need to read the specifications solely. In fact, although some people said the specs are easy to read, this does not appear to me. I feel specs are very difficult to read and understand, so, I perfer reading books instead.
In fact, I do not pass SCWCD beta with a good score. So do SCWCD 1.3.
Anyway, dont worried, you still have SCMAD and SCJWSD. You can master both of them.

The beta 1.4 exam is *really* hard, and a HUGE number of candidates did not pass it! It is extremely difficult to pass an exam when the topics are so new, and there are not good materials from which to study.
A lot of people from Sun who work with Servlets and JSP *all the time* did not pass this beta. In fact, the joke among the developers of the exam is that not all of *them* would pass it either, because the people developing the exam usually specialize in just one area. The developer of the JSP specification did not necessarily know much about, say, security, etc.
I would not feel badly at ALL about not passing. Yes, it would have saved you the money if you intend to now take the *real* exam when it's released, but at least you got to practice and see what it's really like (except the final exam will be a little easier than the beta, and of course SHORTER )
It's great when you pass a beta, but it's best if you don't necessarily expect to pass, and you see it as a way to do two things: get a free *practice* and provide a way to help the people who will take the final exam. Your comments, and your attempt at the beta are extremely valuable and important in the exam.
cheers, thank-you on behalf of all who worked to develop and exam, and good luck in the Real Thing!
-Kathy

Yeah, Kathy. Do you get any approximate stats for the Beta? Like how many passed, in 90's, 100's....I mean for the real exam, my understanding is Sun doesn't publish stats of how many passed like that info, right.

It looks like it's time for me to write you a reality check! Or maybe a tiny ad!
