Do I need to update my SCJP certification to 1.4 before I can take the latest SCWCD certification exam or is any SCJP allowed?

I took the SCJP 4 years ago, back in 2000, and yet they let me take the SCWCD exam today.
Sun changed their tsance on how long exam results are viable for. I think they used to expire after 2-3 years, but now, all exam results are always valid.
Instead of doing SCWCD again, try doing something more useful, like taking the SCBCD exam?

I don't know if the bean exam would necessarily be better. Depends on how many enterprise projects you are working on. At any rate, I am looking more into the architect exam...if not to pass right away, at least as a learning experience to touch some aspects of J2EE that I have been lacking. Its Friday...time for ->
