I hate these vague blanket posts, but here's one anyways:
Does anybody have any thoughts on the upgrade exam from 1.3 to 1.4? I've never taken an upgrade exam .. I'm so nervous! Seriously though -- I know it's just like a regular exam and I should just study the objectives and let it stand at that. Plus, alot of you probably did the beta exam and have no use for the upgrade now, but I thought I'd throw this out there in case anybody had any insights or opinions.
I would guess that the questions for the upgrade exam come from the same question pool as the regular exam. Would that be correct?

I think yes. But a bit different is, questions in SCWCD 1.4 upgrade may contain more about the new topics, like EL, JSTL, etc. I think questions may not be selected using the *formula* used in SCWCD 1.4 regular exam.

Personally, I doubt I will upgrade from 1.3 exam. It used to be that your exam mark would actually expire over about 2 or 3 years. After that, you were no longer considered having passed the exam at all! (Not kidding). But recently, Sun changed their tune and decided all exmas from now on are valid permanently, so why upgrade? (When you get your package from Sun, you can visit their website, log in and view the exams you've taken and passed. Notice they are all 'valid always').
Unless a job prospect required the latest and greatest 1.4 exam, your better off putting your efforts into the next exam, like SCBCD, or the Java Architect exam (that's a tough one!)

Totally agree. That's why I will consider taking Beta exam as another mean for the upgrade.
