Tag in attribute

Is it allowed to put custom tag in attribute ?

Example:

<c:0ut value="<c:0ut value='nameAttr' />" /> (I put zero instead of o in c::0ut because otherwise this ptinted like this c ut)

If yes in which case is it allowed, how do we have to config our tag library descriptor

Thx,
Tiggy

I believe it has to do with whether you're doing your pages in XML or just the old-fashioned horrible JSP syntax. If you're doing them as XML pages (aka JSP Documents), then the container will insist that they are well-formed, so what you are trying to do wouldn't be allowed. You could do something like <c:out value="${value}"/>. If you're using the horrible old-fashioned way, I'm not sure what would happen. You can certainly put a custom-tag in a static attribute, but I'm not quite sure about a runtime one.
