Greetings,

I have studied laboriously from the SCWCD Exam Study Kit book. I think I have a fairly solid understanding of the materials, and can do reasonably well on the mock exams. However, the authors suggest reading the servlet and JSP specifications.

What are people's opinions on reading the servlet and JSP specifications? One of the reasons I got a book was so that I didn't have to try to learn from a spec ;-) However, I now feel that I would get a lot more out of a spec with the new grounding I have.

Cheers,
Jason

It depends on the purposes of reading specs. For me, I havent read any of the specifications for any exams. All I have to do for each exam is to find a cool book, and study it in depth. I never find problems for passing exams without specs.

Of course, if you wanna know more, reading specs is the best way.

I guess YES, you need to study/read them not only for the certification but also to understand them very well for you to apply it in real-life programming.

Peace,

We can fix it! We just need some baling wire, some WD-40, a bit of duct tape and this tiny ad:
a bit of art, as a gift, that will fit in a stocking
