Hello all,

I have started preparing for SCWCD exam. I bought the study kit and read the first 3 chapters.. Just wondering how much time did everyone take to prepare for this exam. I am planning to set my exam date in the first week of Aug.

Thanks in advance for reponding.

It depends if you want to take the 1.3 or 1.4 exam. What are you studying for ?

I am preparing for 1.4v..

BTW .. why would anyone go for 1.3 when there is a latest version available.

I asked the question about prepation time to feel comfortable with my goal.

Thanks,
Akhila

The thing is that the SCWCD 1.3 is really easier than the SCWCD 1.4 for many reasons:

- Very good books are available for SCWCD 1.3.
- You have more theory to study and therefore more questions on the exam.
- If you take a look at the objectives for the SCWCD 1.4, you will see that is less structured than for the SCWCD 1.3. Those objectives are really vague and confusing.

For all this reason, you are required to read the specs to see what have changed and all the new stuff (EL,JSTL,...) and this is really time consuming because you never know when you are ready...

In my case, I took the SCWCD 1.4 and I studyied one month and one week (5 days a week). At the beginning I planned to take the SCWCD1.3 because the SCWCD1.4 did not exist and I was not aware that was coming out. After some thinking, I choosed the SCWCD1.4 and I cleared the exam with 92 %. I can understand that people who have not so much time to study choose the SCWCD1.3 because the SCWCD 1.4 is generally not required in the industry (for the moment). Few companies are using the latest technologies...

Nevertheless, if you have time I advise you to take the SCWCD 1.4. This is more fun.

If you need more advise, feel free to ask. I have been in the same situation and the forum helps me a lot. Particularly Siva who helped me a lot and for who I am saying once more THANK YOU !

Good luck,
Adri

Or we might never have existed at all. Freaky. So we should cherish everything. Even this tiny ad:
