Hi all,

What is the difference in declaring the taglib in web.xml in below 2 cases.

1st Case)
#########
<web-app>
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>taglibExample</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/simple.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
</web-app>

2nd Case
#########
<web-app>
<jsp-config>
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>taglibExample</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/simple.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
</jsp-config>
</web-app>

I tested one simpleTag example and it is working in both cases.

Regards
Raju

The first case is for the servlet 2.3/jsp 1.2 version of the deployment descriptor (dd). <-- SCWCD 1.3

While the second one is for the newer servlet 2.4/jsp 2.0 dd which now uses an updated xml schema in place of the older xml document type definition (dtd). <-- SCWCD 1.4

Hope this helps!
