OK, here's what happened.

I just took my SCWCD 1.4 exam. I've been taking all of the free mock exams I could find and have been averaging between 80% to 90%. So I go in for the actual exam. There were many questions (I'd say somewhere between 6 and 10) that I know weren't listed in the objectives. There was stuff in there asking what formatted XML statements need to be in the web.xml file when you're deploying EJBs and things like that. In particular there was one question that said something along the lines of "Your company currently uses non-distributed web-based applications. The company recently bought another company that has distributed J2EE applications and they need to run them on your server. What things do you need to check to make sure they run correctly". Luckily I barely squeaked by with 63% (I needed 62%). Has anyone else run into this when they took the 1.4 exam?

Well What do you need to do to make sure they run correctly?

I forget the exact wording of the answers, but it had to do with the set-up of the server. Sorry.

Please everyone, we ask you not to post the actual (or even "remembered") text of the questions and especially the answers. It degrades the quality of the exam when this happens and it is illegal.

Now to answer Rob's original question about the inclusion of "declaring EJB components in the deployment descriptor". This topic is included in the objective "Describe the purpose and semantics of the deployment descriptor." in Section 2 of the objectives. This objective is extremely generic/vague and because of that EJB configuration questions do fall under this statement. To be honest, it was not my intention to include EJB questions for this objective, but during the very intense week of exam item writing the scope of this objective expanded.

The SCWCD objectives are listed on Sun's web site at:
