My number one advice is to create your own study "flash cards". Force yourself to sit down and with a stack of index/note
cards, write a simple question on one side, and the right answer on the other. Don't format it like a mock exam question, just a simple question you can use to drill yourself and improve your memory. It takes multiple repetitions to burn some things into your brain.
Then you can carry these
cards around with you and quiz yourself. When I am studying for an exam I take my cards *everywhere* -- to the movie (although if it's dark and I'm waiting for the movie to start, I sometimes have to look at them by the light of my cell phone screen... which of course I must remember to turn off BEFORE the movie begins or I risk being killed by other people in the theater), on the train, driving (it is much better if you wait until you are actually STOPPED before you use them in the car
) etc.
Then you can offer to send or trade these with someone else who is also preparing.
By the way, just the act of MAKING the cards is often enough to make a big difference in your memory. I have students make cards even if they never look at them again--just *making* them is important.
cheers and good luck,
Kathy
