Hi,

I'm planning to give SCWCD 1.4 exam. I've been working on J2EE technologies for a few years, but have not read many books on Servlets/JSP/Patterns. So, I am planning to buy one.

Can someone suggest me a book that would be suitable for developers like me. I do not need a very basic book as reading the basic concepts that you already know gets boring at times. The book should cover the topics in depth, and the the same time provide some tips on the xertification exam.

Thanks,
Neeraj

Hi Neeraj,

I know only one book for the 1.4 exam: "Head First Servlets". It doesn't assume any knowledge of Servlets, so you can skip the first 3 chapters. Overall it is a very good book.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your help !!

I read some reviews about that book on this forum and found the comments very impressive. Have ordered it today. I hope it meets my expectations.

Do you think some other specification / book / study notes / mock exam would be useful as a companion to this book?

Thanks again,
Neeraj

The book should be enough to pass the exam. I find the specifications very boring to read, but if you can handle it's the best source of information. There are a few mock exams available for free - check out the links in this forum. Unfortunately most of the exams are based on the 1.3 exam, but there are some that are not. I hope this helps.
